Assignment 2
This assignment explores aspects of the wave-equation in black-hole backgrounds. You are first asked to parse this equation so as to put it in a convenient form. This form allows an analysis of the so-called "greybody factors" of black holes. A third question introduces a commonly-used method of solving this equation via an infinite series.
The last problem is meant to give you a sense of the kind of physical time-scales that are relevant for black-hole evaporation.
